Vertical blinds are really just vertical, and usually longer than horizontal blinds. They are regularly used for patios, doors, and similar areas since they can be raised left to right instead of lifted, or alternatively opened all the way.

Venetian blinds, or as they're often called, window blinds, are made of thin slats of aluminum, plastic or other components that overlap when closed to shut out light.

Venetian blinds with plastic slats are no longer popular in contemporary interior design. Decorators now often embrace anodized aluminum and silver blinds for a contemporary window with minimalist consequence. These days, the assortment of available venetian blinds includes a range of separate designs, textures, and colors.
